Bad weather halted the start of play at the Kennington Oval London today but it did nothing to dampen the spirits of the persons who braved the weather to watch two very closely contested matches.
The rain meant that the first match between New Zealand and Scotland was reduced to a 7 overs a side match. Scotland, one of the ICC affiliate teams, batted first amassing an impressive 89/4 in their 7 overs. Any hopes of following in the footsteps of their fellow affiliates, the Netherlands, were quickly put to rest as New Zealand amassed 90/3 in six overs. New Zealand won by 7 wickets (with 6 balls remaining).
