England managed to pull off a win against Pakistan, in their second match of the ICC 20/20 Cricket World Cup.
Having lost the opening match to the Netherlands on Friday, England needed to win this match to stay in contention for the tournament.
England batted first and managed to score 185/5 with a gutsy performance. Pieterson showed his form with 58 runs off 38 balls. But Pakistan are ranked amongst the favorites to win this tournament and England must have been wondering if they had enough runs on the board as they came out to defend the total.
They need not have worried. Pakistan appeared a shadow of their former selves as the English bowling systematically took them apart. Even the great Alfridi could not help the side as he was caught at long on by Morgan for 5 off the bowling of Swann.
Pakistan could not keep up with the run rate and handed England a four wicket victory with 137/7 in their twenty overs, 38 runs short of the total.
